international co-tutorship

Aqui está a tradução para o inglês:

International Cotutelle (also known as Co-Tutorship) is becoming increasingly common in Brazilian universities, as it is internationally. Cotutelle provides both students and faculty with broader access and greater opportunities for acquiring new knowledge, which can have highly beneficial effects on academic programs.

The Federal University of Espírito Santo (UFES) can establish agreements with foreign universities for the completion of master’s or doctoral programs under a Cotutelle arrangement. These specific agreements typically arise through interactions between UFES’s graduate programs and those of other institutions.

Under these agreements, students work under the supervision of an advisor at each of the two partner institutions. Upon successfully defending a Master’s Dissertation or Doctoral Thesis under an international Cotutelle arrangement, the student will receive two diplomas, one from each institution, as stipulated in the agreement between the universities.

The UFES resolution that establishes the general guidelines for international Cotutelle is Resolution No. 36-2010 – CEPE – Cotutelle – Dual Degree in Two Countries.
