Summary: Road freight transport accounts today 60% of freight transported in Brazil.
Once it is
the most used method in transport industry, it is responsible for 90% of the total
amount of petroleum derivatives consumption and thu
s they are responsible for most
of the greenhouses gases emission.
In addition to these impacts, others
consequences like traffic jam, noise and other accidents are felt by the population.
Due to its importance to economy and its significant impact on soci
ety, it is of great
usefulness to understand which are the necessary attributes for this means of
transportation become sustainable
.
For this purpose it has been made a careful
bibliographic revision about urban freight transport sustainability, through Pr
ocKnow

In order to know the frequency of publications on this subject, there was
no definition of a minimum date for the search. Proceeded to the analysis of the
articles researched and generated and bibliometric indicators that provide important
information about the publications in the area of
sustainability of road freight
transport. This study confirms that, although the air pollution is the most researched
attribute, like other loads consolidation center have gained their space and achieved
good results. The results show what are the main journals published on this subject,
the most relevant articles and the key attributes of each of the three aspects of
sustainability (economic, environmental and social) studied and which the authors
who pu
blish on the subject. Also, confirm that the issue of road freight transport
sustainability is recent, considering that most of the publications found occurred since
2008
