Summary: This work numerically analyzes the behavior of prestressed alveolar slabs commonly used in Brazil for shear, for different situations: without structural cover, with variations in the applied protension force and in the concrete class used. In order to study, understand and improve the use of these parts, modeling is carried out by numerical analysis using finite elements using the ANSYS V.15 software to reproduce already performed physical tests and to compare the numerical results to the experimental ones in order to calibrate the use of the program for the study of these slabs. The results obtained are compared with theoretical results obtained using the formulations available in ABNT NBR 14861: 2011 and ABNT NBR 6118: 2014. Therefore, with this research, it was possible to measure conservatism in the current Brazilian standard for the calculation of shear strength of prestressed alveolar slabs without structural cover, expanding the theoretical basis and glimpsing new works on the subject.
