Summary: This research aims to characterize and elaborate geological-geotechnical models for the region that covers Jockey Itaparica and Praia de Itaparica districts (city of Vila Velha-ES). In order to reach this objective, geotechnical surveys information from the last 10 (ten) years, obtained through Standard Penetration Test (SPT) and Rotating Drilling was collected. The work consists of collecting and analyzing the drilling data, aiming to identify the most sedimentar characteristic layers of the area. This analysis resorted to selection of the most representative surveys of the study area sediments. Then the drill holes were spatialized in their respective terrains and were transformed into UTM coordinates with the aid of the geoprocessing software Google Earth tool in order to obtain the drilling holes on a cartographic basis. In the third step, a spreadsheet was elaborated containing the location from the latitude, longitude and altitude of each hole and all the geological and geotechnical information extracted from the survey bulletins, imported into the RockworksTM Thus, through this information were created four geological and/or geotechnical digital models: i) lithological; (ii) stratigraphic; iii) Number of SPT strokes (NSPT) and iiii) Rock Quality Designation (RQD). The lithological and stratigraphic models, and their respective sections represented the sediment layers existing in the region, and through the sections in the model it was possible to visualize the layers limits and extension. With these data, was noticed that the research area is in the transition range Between the alluvial deposits and the quaternary recent marine deposits. In addition, the models confirmed the existence of the sandstone in the region which has all the characteristics of a beachrock. The Nspt model provided the resistance of the layers in the research area that are important information for Engineering, since several correlations were made from this test. And the RQD model provided information about the quality of the sedimentary rock present in the substrate studied. All these results made it possible to understand the geological formation of the region and especially the beachrock geological formation.
